✨ Competition Introduction
The "1st Kai Tak Cup Ballet Championship 2026", organized by WeStar, will be held for the first time at Hong Kong's new landmark --- Kai Tak Sports Park. As the first dance competition to be held at the park after the National Games, we aim to create a professional and inspiring stage for children, teenagers, and dance enthusiasts who love ballet. We encourage them to showcase their personal style, cultivate confidence through creation and performance, and promote the exchange and development of dance art.
At the same time, we want participants and audience members to experience the charm of performances brought by top-notch facilities, allowing dancers to build confidence under sparkling lights and embark on their dream journey.
This competition focuses on ballet, encouraging creation, performance, and exchange, allowing dancers to jointly pursue the beauty of art and become the stars of tomorrow.

• Date: June 28, 2026 (Sunday)
• Venue: Dance Studio, UG/F, Kai Tak Arena, Kai Tak Sports Park, Kai Tak.
• Stage Dimensions: 12m (width) x 7m (depth)
• The competition will feature lighting effects.
🎭 Competition Categories
• Ballet items only
• Format: Solo, Duet/Trio, Group Dance (4–16 people)
• Each participant may register for a maximum of 3 items (including solo, duet/trio, and group dance)
• Dance Duration: Solo/Duet/Trio up to 3 minutes; Group Dance up to 4 minutes (0.5 points deducted for every 10 seconds overtime)
👶 Age Groups
(Calculated as of August 31, 2026); All participants must submit identification documents on the day of the competition for age verification.
► Children's Group: 6 years old or below
► Junior Primary Group: 7-8 years old
► Middle Primary Group: 9-10 years old
► Senior Primary Group: 11-12 years old
► Junior Secondary Group: 13-15 years old
► Senior Secondary Group: 16-17 years old
► Open Group: 18 years old or above
(For duets/trios and group dances, the age group is determined by the oldest member of the team; if the number of participants is insufficient or exceeds the limit, the organizer reserves the right to merge or split groups)

• Once registration is confirmed, fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable, except in the event of competition cancellation.

• Schedule and competition guidelines will be notified by email in early June, and no time adjustments will be accepted.
• Participants must ensure that the submitted information is accurate. The center reserves the right to disqualify any participant who provides false information or does not meet the eligibility requirements.
🏆 Awards
Judging Criteria: Technique, artistic expression, creativity, and overall coordination. The judges' decision is final.
Judges: Composed of experienced dancers from Hong Kong and internationally.

Special Group and Instructor Awards:
To recognize academies/studios and instructors who actively participate and nurture talent, this competition has established the following awards. These will be automatically calculated and presented by the organizer after the competition (no additional application required):
- Outstanding Academy Award Calculated based on the total number of teams (all items combined, including solo, duet/trio, and group dance) registered under the same account and same group name (school/studio/dance group).
- 5 teams or more: Bronze Award (1 certificate)
- 10 teams or more: Silver Award (certificate + 1 trophy)
- 15 teams or more: Gold Award (certificate + 1 trophy)
- Outstanding Teacher Award The instructor of a first-place winner will receive an Outstanding Teacher Certificate and trophy.
🎁 Add-on Custom Awards
• Each winning item can be separately purchased as an add-on.
• Can be printed with the participant's name/school or organization name.
• For individual, duet, and trio items (excluding group dance), winners will receive a free certificate and medal. For group dance items, certificates and awards are issued per single group. If groups wish to apply for additional individual awards (trophies, medals, physical certificates, e-certificates) for their participants, they can apply for add-ons during registration or after the competition.
• Order deadline: July 27, 2026. Trophy production takes 6-8 weeks (from the application deadline). We will notify you once production is complete. Shipping will be arranged via SF Express (cash on delivery).
🎥 Videos and Photos
• The competition will provide professional video recording and photography services, which will be sent via email within 8 weeks after the order deadline.
• How to order: Fill out the order form during registration or after the competition, and upload the transfer receipt (indicating name/team).
🎟️ Ticket Information
• HK$90 per ticket, no assigned seating. Available for purchase from the organizer in early June.
• One ticket per person for entry (excluding participants), no entry for children under 3 years old.
📌 Costumes, Footwear & Props
• Costumes: In line with ballet style, leotards are permitted, but no school or brand logos (except RAD) should be displayed.
• Footwear: All participants are forbidden from wearing pointe shoes during the competition.
• All participants must wear dance tights, at least knee-length (this may be waived if wearing pants that cover the knees).
• The venue prohibits the use of rosin powder / any anti-slip spray.
• Props: Props must be brought by the participants themselves and are limited to simple designs (height not exceeding 170cm, width not exceeding 120cm, depth not exceeding 80cm). The use of liquids, bubbles, or items that may contaminate the venue is prohibited.
📌 Competition Rules
• Age Calculation: All participants' ages are calculated as of August 31, 2026.
• Competition Items: Each dancer may participate in multiple items, but must arrange their own time for costume changes and makeup; the organizer will not make individual adjustments.
• Music Upload: All music must be uploaded to the designated link by May 15, 2026. Details will be notified via email.
• Stage Specifications: The stage dimensions are 12m (width) x 7m (depth).
• Lighting Effects: The competition will feature lighting effects.
• Check-in Procedures: Please arrive at the designated time before the competition to complete check-in.
• Changing Rooms: Limited space in venue changing rooms. Participants are advised to change into their performance costumes in advance and handle makeup and hairstyles.
• Photography and Videography: Except for photographers and videographers designated by the organizer, no one is allowed to take photos or videos during the competition without the permission of the competition committee. Violators will be asked to leave the audience area and have unauthorized images deleted.
• Results Announcement: Competition results will be announced immediately after the competition, followed by an awards ceremony. The judges' decision on the results is final, and participants may not object.
• Organizer's Rights: The organizer reserves the right to add or reduce competition dates or change competition times; if there are insufficient entries in a group, the organizer may arrange to merge it with other groups.
• Fee Refund: Registration fees, once paid, are non-refundable and non-transferable for any reason or circumstance (including competition cancellation due to adverse weather, merging of competition groups due to fewer than four participants, or any other unforeseen events beyond the organizer's control that prevent the competition from being held as scheduled, etc.).
• Music Requirements: Music must not contain profanity or offensive content, otherwise points may be deducted or disqualification may occur.
• Music Submission: No changes or submissions of competition music will be accepted on the day of the competition.
• Backup Music: Responsible teachers or participants are advised to bring backup music (in .mp3 format) on the competition day, in case of music issues. The item will be rescheduled based on the actual situation of the competition.
• Live Accompaniment: Live music accompaniment is not accepted.
📌 Important Dates
- Insurance Liability: The organizer does not purchase insurance for participants. Participants must assess their health condition and purchase personal accident insurance if necessary.
- Health Confirmation: Participants confirm they are healthy enough to perform. The organizer (WeStar) shall not be liable for any accidents, injuries, damages, or deaths occurring during the competition.
- Music Copyright: Music copyright liability rests solely with the registering entity/participant; the organizer assumes no responsibility.
- Venue Damage: The organizer reserves the right to pursue claims and compensation for any damage to the venue.
- Portrait Usage Rights: All participants authorize and agree that the Competition Organizing Committee may use their competition photos, videos, or portraits for record-keeping, advertising, social media, public relations, and other purposes, without any compensation. Winners/participants/audience members are welcome to tag the organizer when sharing.
- Important Notes: Participants must adhere to all venue rules. Failure to comply may result in disqualification.
